Making Home Made Stress Balls

(Photo by Aarón Blanco Tejedor on Unsplash)

You might not think of stress balls as a children’s thing, but I can assure you that they are. These super cool squashy balls are perfect for people who fidget, children who are affected by Autism, Sensory Processing Disorders, Anxiety and probably every child that we know. They stretch, they squeeze, and they are so much fun for everyone, including adults.

BONUS POST Three Healthy Tips for the Winter Months Ahead

(Photo by Sebastian Kanczok on Unsplash)
Hello and welcome to this bonus post....

It came about because we were having a discussion in the office on Wednesday about the fact that we were most likely going to be subject to a hard winter as a result of the very warm summer and autumn seasons we have experienced this year.

That discussion started me thinking about ways that we could all benefit from a little more exercise during the coming months and so as a result and with a little bit of research I came up with these 3 tips we can all use to help us be a bit more resilient during the long, damp and probably cold winter months ahead of us.

Eat Well To Stay Healthy

(Photo by Louis Hansel on Unsplash)

This tip may seem to be an obvious one, but it is something that is often overlooked. Make sure that you eat a variety of fruit and vegetables, this will ensure that your body receives all the nutrients that it will need to fight any illnesses that come its way. Instead of sitting or lying on the sofa and filling your stomach with unhealthy comfort food, choose well and keep your body in shape - inside and out.

Kick Stress Into Touch

Stress has a negative impact on the nervous system and in turn that can have an impact on the immune system. Practicing mindfulness, meditating or taking up yoga can really help you to manage the stress in your life.

Stay Active

Getting outside and into the fresh air along with getting your body moving will increase your endorphins and make you feel a good deal happier.  Exercise will get the blood pumping around the body which in turn will make it work more effectively and strengthen your immune system.

A Short Description Of Play

Hi and welcome to the first of the Under Blue Skies blogs for October (The Month of Play).  I looked around for a description of the play that I could use and although this article cites children as its main focus I felt it was the best description I had found during all my research.
