You
might not think of stress balls as a children’s thing, but I can assure you
that they are. These super cool squashy balls are perfect for people who fidget,
children who are affected by Autism, Sensory Processing Disorders, Anxiety and
probably every child that we know. They stretch, they
squeeze, and they are so much fun for everyone, including adults.
For this piece I
have put together (with the help of the internet) some instructions about how
to make Stress Balls.
All it takes are some simple
bits and pieces, a little bit of time and patience and you will soon have your very
own HOME MADE stress balls.
These are the only things
that you will need
A
funnel, some balloons, a dry empty water bottle, flour (approximately ½ cup per
balloon)
Put the funnel into the water bottle,
and pour the flour through it.
Stretch
the balloon around
the opening at the neck of the water bottle
Turn
the water bottle upside down and gently squeeze the flour into the balloon.
Make sure to use some pressure because the air helps the balloon open up so the
flour can all go in.
When
all of the flour is inside the balloon, pinch the balloon and release it from
the bottle. The balloon should have a good fit around the flour inside it.
Remember
to make sure that there is no extra air inside the balloon!
Tie
the balloon closed
and wipe away the excess flour from the outside.
And
there you have it – a simple idea that should give lots of fun.
Now
to finish off pop the completed stress balls into a basket or a bucket, and
then your children should have plenty of fun playing with them during the day.
These
squashy balls are not only great for children – adults can get great pleasure
from them as well.
If
you find that your child has poked a hole in one or a little bit of flour is seeping
out, simple cover the ball with another balloon and it should be as good as
new.
