IMPROVING
PRODUCTIVITY
Hi it's Dave and thank you for joining me for this week's blog post
Recently I have been considering how to produce a set of ideas designed to help improve my productivity (not only as a blogger but also across the board) and now I have brought them to completion I am sharing them with you via this week's blog post.
It is possible to do this sort of work (blogging) either at home or in the office – but there is one thing that I have discovered, you have to take it seriously otherwise it becomes simply a hobby. That said you can also apply these principles to many aspects of your life.
When you are working (either in an office or at home) is all too easy to become distracted and lose so much time by diving into social media or other things.
So let’s look at a few tips to help you find a state where you are both energetic and productive at the same time.
1 Morning Lark or Night Owl?
The type of person you are will determine when you can produce your best work. Which ever type you are might mean making some changes to your routines so that you can function at your highest level.
2 Make sure you eat breakfast
Too many people, myself included, tend to go without this important meal. A really useful tip is to begin your day with a glass of water and something light and energising to eat.
Also remember to drink water during the day – dehydration makes you less effective and can cause low energy and poor concentration.
3 Planning
Make this an essential part of your life!
Without it we tend to multitask and not really know what to do. Set priorities, divide you work into urgent, important etc.
Break things into smaller steps
4 Set Time Limits
Starting with the most important and working down, decide how much time you will allocate to each task and then stick to it! Take regular breaks to get some fresh air, get some water and take a small snack.
5 Turn off notifications
It is vital to avoid distractions during the first hour of any important tasks or work. It is most important to have clear focus and be able to concentrate on your work.
6 Take a break
This prevents burnout and helps you become more productive.
7 Give yourself a lift
Do something that recharges your batteries.
8 Plan For Tomorrow
Evaluate what you have accomplished, and note what is still to be done.
9 Get enough sleep
This is important, not only for your productivity for but also for your health. Try not to go to bed after midnight because it will have a negative effect on your next day.
10 Take Another Break
Remember to take regular breaks because they will help you to reduce your stress levels
So there we have my ten pointers towards leading a lower stressed and more productive life
