10 Things That You Have To Give Up To Move Forwards

Hi and welcome to the Under Blue Skies blog on this beautiful June morning here in North Devon.

Whether you are a glass half full or a glass half empty person there is a little known fact that unless you give up doing certain things you cannot possibly move forwards in this life.

That said I decided to illustrate the 10 most popular things we as humans do (or fail to do) that stop us from making our lives the best they can be

Not Appreciating The Present Moment

We often try to accomplish something big when we should realise that life is made up of many little things

Overlooking The Positive

What you see depends on what you are looking for – thoughts shape your reality and you will find it hard to be happy in your life if you are not appreciative of the good things that you have right now, in this very moment.

Excuses

When you make excuses you are quite literally setting yourself up for failure in the long term

Running Away From Problems

You have to stop running way, face issues directly – communication, appreciation, forgiveness and Love – show these to the people who deserve them

The Need To Be Right

Always aim for success but never surrender your right to be wrong – if you do you will lose the ability to learn and move forwards

Letting Other People’s Opinion Have Control

You have to do what is best for you, because it is what you, not other people, think that matters

Let Go The Shame Of Previous Failures

The Past DOES NOT equal the future and therefore all that matters is what you do here and now

Procastination On Things That Matter To You

The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago, the second best time is now.  Two main choices face you a) accept things as they are OR b) accept the resoponsibility for changing them

Being Indecisive About Your Wants

Take the decision about what it is that you want and then follow the route towards it with a passion because you will never leave where you are until you decide where you want to be.

And Finally

Choosing To Do Nothing

Every day you are alive presents you with a new opportunity to make a choice – you cannot choose when you die or how it happens but you can choose how you are going to live.

ooo000ooo
