Hi and thank you for joining me on the blog as we begin the run up to the big holiday weekend. I appreciate that it is a big event in the majority of people's lives - don't worry I am not going to begin any form of discussion about the event itself.
However, what I am going to say is that this post is about putting something in place ready for the New Year should you wish to do so.
So with that in mind let me ask you a question
Do You Know What You Want?
I would not be surprised if many of you could tell me lots of things that you don't want and let me list a few that spring to my mind:-
a) I don't want to work for...............!
b) I don't want to be unhappy!
c) I don't want to be stressed!
d) I don't want to be like that!
e) I don't want to be unhealthy!
I am certain that you can add many more things you don't want to that list. It is very easy to list the things we don't want - BUT it is often quite hard to write down a list of the things we do want......
.....and this is where I (and people like me) come in because that role we adopt is that of someone who helps you to get past the things that you don't want and make advances towards attaining the things you do want!
Sometimes we often find that the path towards what we do want may not be direct and oftentimes there are things that are hindering or even blocking your progress towards the things you have identified as being what you want.
When such things happen our role (the coach) is to help and assist you to get past the difficult points.
So in a typical session (or sessions) we often work to prepare a "roadmap" that identifies the route past the difficult / awkard situations, helps overcome the obstacles and thus reach you goals.
These sessions will include self discovery (identifying the real you), building your inner strengths, eliminating limiting beliefs and working towards creating and achieving those "Big Things"
Working together we can plan a route to navigate through change (or create change), plan a career, manage stress, work towards "wellness", goal planning and setting and as a result of these steps make improvements to the quality of your life.
Put simply:-
I will help you to identify your goals
I will help you to move towards them
I will help you to create a plan and a schedule for these movements.
Finally let us identify the 8 Steps Of Coaching model that I use
We work towards building a relationship that is based on trust
We work to identify what you want to achieve - your goals
We look at what is happening at this present time - your reality
We look at what you could do - your options
We look at what you will do - your plan of action
We look at the tactics you will use - what you will do and when you do it
We look to making habits - how you will sustain your success
and finally - you (and I) celebrate your results!
So what comes next?
If you feel that by using the above method you can achieve positive results - great!
The next step would be to schedule a face to face chat (the ice breaker) so that we can get to know something about each other, discuss how everything works:- fees session schedules etc.
Once this has been completed and we each feel comfortable with everything, the terms of engagement would be compiled, signed and the first coaching date put into the diary.
