30 Ways To Practice Self Care

Having been a coach and therapist for a number of years I have managed to collect quite a few tips and tricks that will help people to look after themselves and promote their inner well being.  Here is a collection of some of those tips I have collected.

Take some time to identify the activities and actions that make you feel good

Turn off your phones for a day

Pet an animal

Listen to calming music

Get some exercise

Disconnect yourself from Social Media

Write down what you are feeling

Eat a balanced diet but sometimes treat yourself to your guilty pleasure

Never force yourself to do what you don’t want to do

Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it

Listen to your favourite song on repeat

Get outdoors

Read some inspirational quotes

Remember “This too shall pass” if things do get tough

Practice Gratitude

Take a day off work if you feel it is necessary

If you have to cancel something, cancel it and don’t feel guilty about doing so

Take a trip to visit your favourite place

Have a hot relaxing bath

Light some candles and burn scented oils / waxes

Put on fresh clothes

Get a regular, good night’s sleep

Take some me time

Avoid triggers

Re-read a favourite book

Find a quiet place and meditate as necessary

Watch a favourite film or show from your childhood

Do something that inspires you

Have a nap

And finally remember that looking after yourself is not an option it is an essential part of life in the 21st century
